The year I do something with my life – 2022 goals
Hello February! And apologies to my blog for not giving you the love and attention you deserve. As life moves along, as it always does, it becomes so easy to forget about the things you are supposed to love the most. But this is hopefully going to change. I never set my goals for the year in January. It is so easy to get swept up into the new year new you crap. When that happens the goals aren’t real and become so easy to forget about and not work towards. So February is when I sit down and think about what I want to achieve. These are my 2022…

Positive manifestation with a new Affirmation Deck
In recent months I have been reaching for my oracle cards on a more regular basis. Leaving my job and being trapped at home due to Covid has left me feeling more down than usual. By pulling a card I have something to focus on throughout the day, something that gets me out of bed and away from the reality tv! As someone who does pull cards on a regular basis I love to use new and exciting decks, so when Mal Paper asked if I would try out their new Affirmation Deck I had to say yes! Simple but sweet When choosing my affirmation decks or oracle cards I…

Learning about the moon – The Moon Almanac by Judith Hurrell
In recent months I have felt a connection to the moon and a need to learn more about it. To discover the power it holds and the effects it has on our day to day life. I’m not entirely sure where this eagerness to learn has come from but collecting and working more with crystals has definitely had an impact. When learning about anything remotely spiritual I always look to the experts. When author Judith Hurrell asked for me to review her newest title, The Moon Almanac, I had to say yes. I love discovering a new perspective on things and books much like the Almanac offer a vast history…

Life After Uni – My thoughts and my goals
Who would have thought that after how I was feeling at the end of my second year I would be sat here saying I have actually finished uni? Second-year sapped me for any love and passion I had for journalism. Being locked up and sat in front of a screen left me empty and well let’s face it lazy. But I wanted to prove I wasn’t one to give up anymore. So what happened in third year? For me, doing a journalism degree the year started off as normal, well sort of. For the most part, lectures were in person. Masks were worn and the space had to be cleaned…

Adding to my necklace collection with Daisy Jewellery
Necklaces have recently become one of my favourite ways to accessories. With a collection of crystals and silver pendants, it is always fun to mix and match them with my collection of chains! For me finding chains of varying lengths that are still delicate and dainty and easy to layer has become somewhat of a challenge for me. Daisy London recently reached out to me to collaborate on their recent campaign and sent me a beautiful chain of my choice. With my current layering predicament in mind, I chose the Estée Lalonde Forever Chain Necklace which retails for £49. This chain is unique in the fact that it is actually…

The perfect cosy night in with Lumiere lighters
This post contains gifted items. Spring may be here but I am still enjoying cosy nights-in, wrapped up in a blanket watching a good film. In fact, something that this year of lockdowns has helped me to appreciate is the times where little effort is made and quality time is spent, especially when living with my boyfriend. A big part of creating that cosy feel are candles and wax melts. If you are subscribed to my youtube or even follow me on social media you will know how much I love discovering new small businesses that sell or sorts of home bits but most importantly candles and wax melts. As…

My experience of getting my first Smear Test
I must be getting old. I recently received my letter for my first smear test. At first, I kept making excuses as to why I couldn’t go. First was the November lockdown and then I was busy working in the shop. I also tried using this most recent lockdown as an excuse. It wasn’t until I saw that it was Cervical Cancer Awareness Week and I saw other peoples posts online that I realised it was nothing to be putting off. I just had to ring up and book it. I was scared We were never told about the testing while at school. We got our HPV vaccines and that…

New year, better me! My 2021 goals
The last year showed me how much to appreciate the little things in life. How small things like my morning coffee can make me smile for the rest of the day and how a pair of fluffy socks can make you feel like the snuggest gal in the world. I’m hoping to continue this appreciation for the small things into this new year and to do that I’ve set myself some goals that will hopefully create some happy changes in 2021. Exercise more As we look to spend even more time in lockdowns of varying levels I realised I spend a lot of time sitting down, either doing uni work…

My top tips for staying focused and motivated during winter
This blog post does contain gifted items. I only ever review and feature items I would actually use in my day to day life. A big thank you to Ideal Heating for sending me the items featured in this post! I don’t know about you but I really struggle to keep focused and keep working when it is grey and miserable outside. When I see grey skies I don’t think oh let’s do some uni work. Instead, I think it is time for some hot chocolate, a cosy blanket and a day of trash tv. But to avoid hiding under the duvet I have put together my top tips to staying…
