Christmas shopping can be seriously hungry work, so what is better than a little break in Gloucester’s newest pancake house! In the old offices of the Citizen newspaper on The Oxbode is where you can find this little delight!
When entering the pancake house you are greeted by friendly staff who inform you to sit where you like. Me and my friend Mark chose a spot by the window. On the table, we found a selection of menus filled with delicious items!
We were then asked to order our drinks, I opted for a Fanta lemonade and mark for a coke with ice. They arrive promptly and at room temperature (marks had no ice…). We aren’t ones to complain and they tasted like the drinks we ordered and we were happy enough with that. And then we waited…
…And waited. They forgot about us. And then told us that they forgot about us.
But at long last, we were able to order! I went for the chocolate and caramel pancakes and Mark decided on the ultimate sweet pancakes. About five minutes later a waitress approached us to say we hadn’t been asked what sauce we wanted or if we wanted whipped cream or ice cream.
Despite all of that our pancakes were delicious. They tasted fresh and filled me right up! When we finished our food there was no rush to leave and the staff made you feel welcome to stay as long as you wished.
Yanto’s is a great addition to Gloucester town centre. And considering how recently the store opened the issues we came across can still be put down to teething issues. I will for sure be visiting again!
