Winter Self Care

Winter can be such a miserable time of year. The weather is cold and dreary, the days are shorter and we all have a little less money thanks to Christmas. Because of all this, it is important we take a little bit of time out to look after ourselves!

At least once a week I like to give myself a pamper evening of such. This can be something as simple as having a bath or doing the full works. So what do you fill your pamper self-care kits with? My must have is bath bombs. Pretty Suds is probably my favourite place to get bath bombs from (I know everyone will be saying what about Lush but I quite simply have never tried them). They are fun and creative and come in boxes filled with multicoloured loose fill (I call them polystyrene wotsits) So far I have tried the Candyland Bomb and the Banoffee Pie Bomb.

Now if I really need a treat I will give myself the full works! Starting with a skin peel! Body Shop does a fantastic range of skin peels but the one I am going for at the moment is the Drops of Youth one. Simply wet your face and massage the peel into your skin and all of your dead skin cells literally just peel away. It doesn’t hurt or cause any irritation. I then tend to follow that up with a facemask! Usually, I use the Himalayan Charcoal mask from The Body Shop, but I thought I would try something a little different this time! Instead, I went for the mineral and ginger mask that warms up as you massage it into your skin.

After all of that, you can’t go wrong with a nice mug of hot chocolate! Curled up in bed with a good movie!
