Candle Review: Lily Flame Blush

This lockdown feels like it will never end, and luckily I have plenty of candles to review to see us through! This week I started burning the Blush candle from Lily Flame. I’ve already reviewed a bunch of candles from Lily Flame which you can find here!

The first kiss of the night

Described as a sultry and smouldering scent, Blush is a pretty scent perfect for that romantic date night. The candle aesthetically is a pink Instagrammers dream.

This candle boasts base notes of Oakmoss, Sandalwood, Coumarin, Patchouli and Musk. Middle notes of Jasmine and Vanilla. And top notes of Coconut, Jasmine, Cotton Candy and Bergamot.

This candle had quite a slow burn, taking well over three hours for the wax to fully pool. For me, a slow burn is not usually an issue but I hate having to snuff out the candle before it has fully pooled in a bid to avoid tunnelling.

The scent throw isn’t as strong as other candles, for example, Lily Flame’s Parma Violet candle. This in no way means it is a bad candle, but I do just prefer in your face fragrance. If you like pretty pink, subtle scents this candle is the one for you.

I am also really starting to dislike how Lily Flame uses wick and core. It just doesn’t make for a nice looking burn because the waxes burn at different temperatures.

This candle retails for around £9 and honestly I think it is a really reasonable price for what you get. This candle has a burn time of 35 hours and in my experience of other scents this is the case.

Overall I love the look of this candle I just wish the scent throw was stronger. I love the smell of it up close I just wish I could still smell it while I am sat in bed typing away! For me this won’t be a candle I repurchase but I will continue to make my way through the scents and review them all!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this candle, it sounds like all of my favourite scents – it’s just a shame it doesn’t sound very strong! I appreciate the heads up & look forward to checking out your other reviews.
