A Look Back and my 2017 Favourites

A Look Back and my 2017 Favourites

Happy New Year! Hope you all had fun celebrating the countdown! At this time of year, I like to look back and remember everything that happened in the previous year! And what a year it was! I had a total of four jobs (I’m pretending the call centre didn’t happen), I started writing seriously, and I started applying for university. But I think the most important and special thing that happened was meeting my best friend Cameron. I’m not going to sugar coat it and say it was all rainbows and unicorns because quite frankly it wasn’t. I fell in love with him and life got in the way, our relationship failed and my heart was broken. It still hurts me now, so much that I am unable to open my journal scared to read those words and have my heart break again. But now we are best friends and I am happy with how our friendship is, I even got to spend Christmas with him and his family. I’m pretty sure if it weren’t for Cameron’s belief in me and his words of encouragement I would have given up so many times, I wouldn’t have gone self-hosted, or even looked around the University of Gloucestershire, or applied to be guest editor of my companies internal magazine! So Cameron, if you are reading this thank you so so much, honestly you mean the world to me and I can’t wait to spend another year bugging you!

Not only did experience a lot in 2017 but I tried out a bunch of new things! I thought I would share my favourites with you!

The Body Shop Makeup Brushes

Now I don’t like spending money on makeup brushes but The Body Shop has created a fantastic range! They are so soft and so easy to clean. I will never go elsewhere for my brushes!

Makeup Revolution: Fortune Favours the Brave Palette

2017 was also the year I began to master eyeshadow! I also discovered Makeup Revolution and how amazing their eyeshadow palettes are! So far I have only really use the fortune favours the brave palette but I will be soon to try the revoholic palette I received in my advent calendar and I also want to try their fire palette!

Camomile Sumptuous Balm

Now if you watch my Instagram stories you will have seen me rave about this! I have ditched my Micellar Water and I only use this now! It makes makeup removal so easy and leaves my skin super soft!!! It has also helped me with my sleep, leaving me super relaxed after using it!

Primark Jumpers

You might remember my Primark Jumper Haul that I did a few months ago, well I have been living in those jumpers ever since and even bought a couple more! They are such great value and so cosy!

In the summer I was lucky enough to see Little Mix play at Kingsholm, Supporting them was a band from Australia called Sheppard. Before going to this concert I was terrified, although it was only a 40-minute walk from my house and I would be surrounded by people I probably knew my anxiety was through the roof! This all changed when Sheppard started playing, I immediately calmed down and stopped worrying. Since then I have added all of Sheppards songs to a playlist and listen to it everytime I feel scared or anxious.

007 For Her

Despite this perfume having been around for a while I only bought it this year and it has fast become my everyday perfume living in my handbag! With similar notes to YSL Black Opium, it is a great budget friendly alternative!

So there we have it a proper look back on a rather memorable year! What were your favourite things about 2017? And don’t forget I am also a The Body Shop at Home Consultant and you can join my fantastic group here!
