A little life update – May 2018

A little life update – May 2018

It’s been a little while since I have let you know what is going on in my life personally, so I thought it was only right I did so now! The last time I did a post like this was in October so it is safe to say plenty has happened since then!

I Got into Uni!

Ok, I know I have told you this before but well I am just so damn proud of myself! I did it all by myself with no help from my school, my parents or anyone! Something I haven’t told you yet is that I have also been able to secure my independent student status and my student finance. So basically the last three years that have been full of shitty underpaid jobs and horrible hours have all paid off and I will now be able to survive comfortably at uni!

I Have Started Reading Again!

As a kid, I was the worlds biggest bookworm. You would rarely see me without a book! Summer months were spent inside curled up with a pile of library books hiding away from the sun and the winter months were much the same. So many were quite surprised when I just stopped reading. I’m not sure why I did so, but my love disappeared. This was also around the time of my first relationship, and when I left my parents house. They were pretty dark times. But all of this has changed! So far I have read two books, The Surface Breaks and If I Stay! Every month I am going to be buying a new book and once I have read it I will try and write an honest review!

Am I Becoming a Gamer?

Ok, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration! But I have downloaded a PC game and I can happily sit there for hours playing it! The game I am playing is Magical Diary: Horse Hall. It’s a pretty simple game and runs pretty easily on my laptop. As the title suggests it is about a wizard school and you have to make friends, learn spells and try not to get expelled (I’m not very good at that part!). I have found it is a great way to distract me from everything I have been stressed about lately!

I Had To Move House!

If you follow me on social media you will have seen that I have been quite vocal about the fact that I have had to move house this month. It was incredibly unexpected and rather stressful but I got through it! I am now in a lovely house share right next to the Gloucester-Sharpness Canal and it really is a lovely par of the city! I also live with some pretty cool guys who never fail to make me laugh!

Saving Fail…

So moving house is pretty expensive! Especially when you weren’t planning on moving! Because of this my savings account has dropped down to £20… It will be replaced but it will just set me back a little bit. I am annoyed at my self for using my savings but I wouldn’t have been able to eat this month if I didn’t have that savings account.

Loneliness is Normal

I have been so used to living alone that my life has become quite solitary. My days off are spent alone and so are my evening for the most part. It is sad to say that I am rather used to being lonely and it has meant I am struggling to interact with other people. Holding a conversation has become harder and even making plans seems to be like taking my geography A Level exams all over again.

The Happy Mail Club

This is my newest and most exciting project! I am currently working with the lovely Amber from Rose & Willow Co on a brand new stationery subscription box! This box as you may have guessed is called the Happy Mail Club! It is basically a little box of joy that lands at your door every month, full of lovely stationery and treats created my indie makers and designers! Our first box is to be landing very soon and you can currently get 20% off a one-off box with the code HAPPYMAIL20.

So there you have it! There has been a lot more happening but at the moment I am a little sensitive about those subjects. In regards to them, I want to say thank you to Parris for being there for me through all of the meltdowns and panic attacks!  You really are a fantastic best friend and I can’t wait to meet you in Birmingham very soon!!!

I think your comment on loneliness is spot on. It is normal and we’ll all experience it at some point in our lives.
